Dear Friends
We wanted to share some exciting news with you. We found out this week that our Lord is blessing us with another little boy (both Linda and I were secretly hoping for a boy and the Lord knows I’ve always been useless with girls)!
The bush mentoring weekend was a great success, with very positive feedback coming from the kids and their parents. We had good chats about life’s challenges and the teachings of our Saviour Jesus Christ while going on safari walks, building shelters and sitting around camp and cooking fires (which were started without matches). We even had some bush pigs grace our camp with their presence after we retired for the evening on the first night. The only dampener of the weekend was that the Land Rover broke down again and had to be towed back to East London. We’ve found the problem to be the alternator this time which I am currently working on.
Last Sunday I had a wonderful time preaching on “Promised Land Living” at Queenstown Baptist Church and attending my father-in-law’s farewell as he has retired as the headmaster of Queenstown Girls High School after twenty one years of service.
This Monday we will say farewell to Kathy Horner who is heading back to Texas after staying with us for the past six weeks.
The last bit of news is that we have sold our home and pray the Lord will clearly reveal the next step in His desire for our future before the house is transferred on the 25th of June. The Lord’s leading for us into this new season of ministry has been confirmed through the prompting of the Holy Spirit, Prophetic Words and His Holy Word where he has kept me in Exodus and Numbers for the past three months. This is a difficult time for us as Linda will give birth to our second son at the end of August and we will need to be in an environment where we can provide stability and routine for the first six months of our new baby’s life.
Through these experiences and the guidance of a Spiritual Advisor, we have come to the realisation that the Father is more interested in developing our character than ensuring our comfort. What we also know is that, through it all, He remains our Provider and Protector.
Praise Him.
Blessings
